A Romantic Countrywoman: Saba Nafees at TEDxTexasTechUniversity

Using her own experiences in and out of the American culture, Saba will ask what it means to be American. She seeks to show her audience the importance of diversity, education and community as it pertains to global citizenship today. Stressing the need for diversity in the United States and how a diverse America will be the nation's strength for the future, Saba will speak about education as it manifests in the United States compared with other countries like Pakistan. She will tie the two concepts together to show that it is the principle of community that ties global citizens together.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
