This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Kate Nielsen has no patience for civic apathy. Even in retirement, she’s not slowing down, and in this powerful talk explains why, and challenges everyone to share her obsession.

Kate Nielsen retired in January 2014 after 19 years with the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, culminating in serving as its President.
