Boardroom Table to Kitchen Table: Continuous Improvement in Parenting: Cathy Bennett at TEDxStJohns

Having joined the McDonald's Team at age 16, Cathy quickly climbed the corporate ladder and became a Joint Venture Partner with McDonald's in 1999. In 2007 Cathy was successful in negotiating to buy out McDonald's Canada's interest in Bennett Restau- rants and became the sole owner of Bennett Restaurants.

Over the last ten years Cathy has been very involved as a community volunteer serving as President of the St. John's Board of Trade and Chairperson of St. John's Clean and the Board of Directors for Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro, the Bull Arm Corporation, as well as NALCOR Energy and most recently joined the Board of Bell Aliant.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
