Michelle Benegas has been teaching English to children of immigrants and kids from diverse horizons. In this talk at the University of Minnesota, she describes her first experiences in a Saint Paul school and advocates for a more understanding and personal approach to teaching our newcomers.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
