This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. How to go from Portugal to space.

Bruno Ramos de Carvalho graduated in Computer Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1999 ) . Got Masters by Vrije Universiteit Brussels (2000 ) , performing his studies at the Ecole de Mines de Nantes , France, and developing a research thesis from the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná , Brazil . Worked as Engineer in VoIP telecommunication Marconi Suisse in Geneva , before joining the European Space Agency in the Netherlands , as a Software Engineer . The interest in the space it takes to hold a postgraduate degree in Space Studies from the International Space University , Vancouver (2005 ) , and the launch of Active Space Technologies in 2004 , a spin -off from the European Space Agency . Management activities of the Active Space Technologies have endowed it with complementary skills , these skills enhanced with courses in management conducted at Harvard Business School and the Catholic Business School Lisbon . Currently manages the launch of new spin- offs originated in R & D activities of the Active Space Technologies , doing product development , marketing and distribution marketing
