He is responsible for obtaining and managing the data that fuel IHME's research in global and public health and establishes relationships with data providers and statistics offices in governments, international organizations, NGOs and other organizations around the world. To make information about these data more widely available, Peter directed the development and implementation of the Global Health Data Exchange (GHDx), IHME's public catalog and repository of health-related data. Peter and his team also develop innovative data visualizations that facilitate and encourage the use of data for policy and decision making; interactive features make IHME's comprehensive and detailed data readily accessible and useful for diverse audiences ranging from researchers and policy makers to public health professionals and the private sector.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
