You'll need
3 large or 4 medium lemons
7-8 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 liters water
Here's how
Grate the lemon zest. Make sure not to grate too deeply to avoid the bitter white parts of the peel.
Add the sugar to the grated lemon zest.
Using a spatula or your hands, mash the mixture for a few minutes to infuse the sugar with the lemon aroma. Adjust the amount of sugar to your taste.
After thoroughly mixing the sugar and lemon zest, place a few fresh mint leaves and lemon slices in a pitcher or large bowl.
Add the mashed sugar and lemon zest mixture. Finally, squeeze the juice from the lemons you grated earlier into the pitcher.
Add cold water and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Let the lemonade chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Then, strain the lemonade through a fine sieve.
You can serve the lemonade with ice cubes, fresh mint, and lemon slices if desired. Enjoy!
