In pursuit of happiness | Gbenga Obagbemi | TEDxAkure

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. From being an engineer to a music guru, Gbenga Obagbemi was able to transition smoothly from giving his TEDxAkure talk to exciting the audience with familiar tunes.

Gbenga Obagbemi is a Talented, refined and intelligent Pianist, Organist and keyboardist. He started music back in primary school days with a recorder and picked up learning of organ in his local church in Akure while in secondary school. He got the inspiration from his father who was also a talented singer in the church choir. Music runs in his blood Although, he is a trained Engineer from Federal university of Technology Akure His love and talent for music has distinguished him in so many highly rated singing group like Calvary youth singers and praise creation while in the university. Before graduating from FUTA, he became the resident pianist of Omega Bank (now Enterprise bank) from a very keen competition. Presently, apart from the fact that he is a banker in a reputed bank(UBA), he is the MD/CEO of G-CLEF Band, a live band and MD/CEO of Emeralds Chorale group. He is highly gifted in the area of rearranging songs which earned him the post of the Music Director of the Government house chapel and the Organist of St. David's Cathedral Akure. He is happily married to Adenike, a consultant on tourism and blessed with 3 kids (2 boys and 1 girl). It is worthy of note that his boys Iretomiwa and Iredipo plays the keyboard too while the girl, Irewonuola does the singing.
