Is capitalism compatible with climate action? Advocates of the de-growth movement don’t think so. They believe the only way to reduce emissions is to scale down the world’s economies and invest more in public transport, clean energy and the renovation of old buildings and infrastructure.

However, supports of so-called Green Growth believe just the opposite. They argue for a strong economy that can allow us to invest in new, sustainable technologies that can help us slash our carbon footprint in the long run.
