Britain’s Heathrow Airport will be closed on March 21 after a huge fire at an electrical substation knocked out power to the airport and thousands of homes, disrupting flight schedules around the world.
Several flights were already being diverted, according to flight-tracking website FlightRadar24, while airport authorities said they “expect significant disruption over the coming days.”
The London Fire Brigade said around 70 firefighters were tackling the blaze in the west of London. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
