Magic: The ability to see the invisible: Birad Rajaram Yajnik at TEDxEMWS

Birad Rajaram Yajnik is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, curator and photographer. Recently, he created the 'KING - Gandhi Wall' - an interactive art installation on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi at the Howard University in Washington D.C. In 2010, his Limited Edition book 'MKG - Imaging Peace Truth Ahimsa' was previewed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and released by the President at the United Nations to mark the International Day of Non-Violence. Since 2010, he has spoken at the Nehru Centre in London, the Tolstoy farm in Johannesburg, at the Jaipur Literature Festival and at the event - THE SPIRIT OF GANDHI AT TAHRIR SQUARE in Cairo. In May 2013, he was invited to South Africa by the Gandhi Development Trust for a lecture series on Mahatma Gandhi in the 21st century at the Durban University of Technology. His initiative in collaborative art produced the Ahimsa Harley.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)


TEDxEMWS is the brave venture into the world of innovation and reflection for members of the ever-evolving education community in Mumbai.

TEDxEMWS was held on the 1st of February 2014. Bringing together the TED philosophy & the IB mission statement, the event aimed to ensure that speakers of various disciplines come together so as to be able to inspire the new generation of leaders into reforming society & ushering in new changes. By bringing together high school students from around Mumbai, the aim of the event is not necessarily to change the views of those present completely but simply open them to the different possibilities that can be explored as speakers build their talks around the theme 'Limitless Paradigms'.
