Matt Levi is a graduate of University High School in Honolulu. He spent nearly twenty years in television news in Hawaii and another 20 years as private detective. For the past 40 years, have been a martial artist, working primarily with at-risk youth. For the past nine years, he has taught martial arts to teenagers in Juvenile Drug Court on Oahu. Matt is married with three daughters and has a grandson.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
