Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in Budapest on April 3, marking his first European visit since 2023, defying an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban invited Netanyahu last November, just a day after the court issued the arrest order over war crimes in Gaza, and pledged to disregard the ICC's warrant despite Hungary having ratified the Rome Statute in 2001. Hungary announced on April 3 its decision to withdraw from the ICC.
