Charlotte Davies is an Economics, Business and Enterprise Education teacher; holder of the National Professional Qualification for Headteachers; authored papers on teaching Economics and Enterprise education; also on how to overcome cognitive barriers to learning. She developed an understanding of the Neurology of learning when her son was blinded by local hospital's treatment of his lazy eye; and have since developed greater understanding working to help other children and adults gain more efficient use of cognitive pathways. She is a prominent community activist, promoting greater social empowerment, particularly in Croydon, where transparent decision-making, to maximise social welfare is very difficult to access.

She is the director of "Fit 2 Learn Community Interest Company" -- a company dedicated to training people to understand the development that is necessary for humans to be efficient learners and to be able to behave calmly.

She is also the chair of the "South Croydon Community Association" -- a community association which arose out of the 2011 Croydon riots, which seeks to address and resolve the underlying causes of the Croydon riots.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
