The world is facing increasingly complex issues that are requiring adaptive solutions. One of the biggest issues that we face is feeding 9 billion people worldwide by the year 2050. This overwhelming challenge along with others, forces us to shift how we approach decision-making and practice leadership. Tony provides insight into Emotionally Engaged Thinking, a process that has the potential to change our perceptions of the challenges we face and could possibly save our world.
Tony Andenoro, PhD, currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Leadership Education within the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication and the Coordinator of the campus-wide Leadership Minor at the University of Florida and the Past President for the Association of Leadership Educators. His research interests include the development of creativity and intelligence in leadership, using storytelling as a vehicle for the development of self-awareness, the development of emotionally intelligent instruction and instructors, emotionally engaged thinking, and the development of community resilience. Originally haling from Cleveland, OH, Dr. Andenoro earned a BA in Communication from the University of Toledo, a MS in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University, and a PhD in Agricultural Education with an emphasis in leadership studies from Texas A&M University.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
