When You Know Upper Egypt You Will Love It: Amal Khalifa at TEDxCairoWomen

Amal Khalifa Aly, born & raised in Aswan, has dedicated her time and energy to the community development of Aswan and its neighboring village. She is currently the vice president of Om El Qurra Non governmental organization that focuses its work in Upper Egypt. She has lead campaigns for equal educational opportunities, raising awareness on Aids, fighting illiteracy, calling for children's rights and supporting better life for disabled children and many more. Amal would like to see more serious work done in offering better cultural & economic opportunities for women. She is calling for Egyptians from the north to be more involved with their communities in the south.
