A message that 'turns over' our perception of sexuality: Maija Rhee Devine (이매자) at TEDxSinchon

Ms. Rhee Devine graduated Sogang University, English Literature major. She then moved to USA and became a writer, writing novels in both English and Korean. She shares her personal experience of the Korean War in her internationally acclaimed autobiographical novel, "The Voices of Heaven" and a collection of her poetry, "Long Walks on Short Days". She is preparing another novel and a collection of poems on Korean comfort women, titled "Journals of Comfort Women". Also, she is actively giving lectures and interviews on both sides of Atlantic Ocean, working to raise awareness and to find solutions for social problems in Korean society after the Korean War.


In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
