Louis-Philippe is an adventurer and an explorer. His latest trek took him 38 days to kayak around Lake Titicaca, which borders Peru and Bolivia. Loncke is an ambassador for the Jane Goodall Institute, the second Belgian fellow of the Explorers Club and was a torchbearer for the 2012 London Summer Olympics. He is a passionate advocate for the environment, particularly water conservation, and is about to launch his own start up.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
