Ban Fracking: Siena at TEDxEncinitas

Siena is a 10 year old Climate Activist. She began her journey at age 5 when she started a recycling program in her kindergarten class and asked all of her family members to "recycle" as their Holiday gift to her.

Then, just after turning 9, she began her crusade to Ban Fracking (Hydraulic Fracturing) in the State of CA. What started out as a Petition to Governor Brown, turned into several Tedx speeches, lobbying our State Legislators in Sacramento, and speeches at Rallies and Democratic Clubs throughout Southern California. Although still on her mission to Ban Fracking, her activism has expanded. She has rallied for the ban of the KXL pipeline and is determined to spread awareness about the dangers of global warming. She knows that, given the right knowledge, each person can make a difference!

From Siena: "Everyone's action today directly impacts our climate tomorrow. If you want your children and grandchildren to have clean water to drink, clean food to eat, and clean air to breathe -- then the time to act is NOW, before it is too late."

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
