Be Brave in the Business of Life: Nigel Sharp at TEDxYerevan

Always challenging himself, Nigel is a British-Armenian entrepreneur and technologist. Had his first computer at age 5 and ever since has been active in extra-curricular projects. He started a metal welding company at 13 years old, traded industrial and electronic hardware at 14 and competed in the Irish Young Entrepreneur national final with his invention of the Computer Mouse cleaner at age 15, which hit the shelves of local shops -- profits of these enterprises went later in part to pay for his studies.

Continuing a chain of such projects has been the story thread of his life. Nigel built and programmed his first website at 16 and robot at 18 whilst trying pig farming in his spare time. He has continuously won awards for innovation throughout his time at King's College London where he studied a BEng in mechanical engineering and two MSc degrees in both digital technology and engineering.

Most recently he volunteered and then chose to repatriate to Armenia after being given the demanding role of IT Project Manager at the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies. He pro-actively supervised and built a team to install and maintain the IT infrastructure for 2.5 years before and after the Center's multi-million dollar launch. Now married and in his late twenties, Nigel co-founded and became CEO of a new international technology start-up called Lionsharp Solutions.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
