Beating the Odds: Interview with Ali Al-Himyari at TEDxTaiz 2014

It is possible to beat the odds and overcome the most difficult of situations with the right mindset and a strong will power. This was the bottom line message exemplified by TEDxTaiz guest, Mr. Ali Al-Himyari, in an interview with TEDxTaiz host Ali-Marrani. Al-Himyari simplicity and strong drive were the key to his success. He learned the basics of mechanics and would invent a special elevator from everyday simple materials that are readily available in his remote village; this elevator would help him perform his job across various projects to transport building materials from the bottom of a mountain to its top.

بإمكان الإنسان أن يتحدى أصعب الظروف عندما يقرر ذلك، وخصوصاً عندما تكون بساطته هي مفتاح إبداعه .يستعرض (علي) هنا تجربته الحياتية البسيطة التي تعلم منها أصول الميكانيكا، ليقم بعدها بابتكار مصعد صنعة من أدوات بسيطة في متناول يده في بيئته المحلية النائية، بحيث يسهل علية مزاولة أعماله في المشاريع التي هو مسئول عنها، المتمثلة بنقل مواد البناء من السفوح إلى قمم الجبال. كل ذلك من خلال مقابلة أجراها معه مقدم حدث تيدكس تعز 2014 الإعلامي علي المراني.
