Interview with Artist Tu Wei-Cheng, Taiwan Platform, Art Stage Singapore 2014

Tu Wei-Cheng has been chosen by curator Rudy Tseng as one of the artists of Art Stage Singapore's Taiwan Platform. Represented by Tina Keng Gallery (Taipei and Beijing), Tu Wei-Cheng shows three works that combine sculpture, mechanics, and moving images. The Emperor's Chest is a series of sculptures that incorporate historical artifacts such as the camera obscura, the shadow puppetry, the phantascope, the praxinoscope, magical lantern slides, grandfather clocks, wooden projectors, the Daguerrian camera. Tu Wei-Cheng uses old-school moving image techniques to present modern scenes of cities and their people.
