Liang Gallery from Taipei, Taiwan, presents a large scale work by the artist Mia Liu. Titled Guggen' Dizzy, the work presents itself as three large slowly rotating disks with colorful drawings. The piece is made of museum tickets from the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and masking tape, plywood and electric motors. In this video, Mia Liu talks about the inspiration for this piece, and her work in general.

Mia Liu was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1980. She graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2007, and in the same year, she enrolled in CUNY Hunter College's Graduate School of Art. She likes to draw freely, and is particularly mesmerized by the unique textures created by drawing on different papers; therefore, she loves to discover different papers from her everyday life to use as her creative medium, and the medium itself also leads to the inspiration for her installation works. The process also goes on to form the clear emergence of her creative theme. By contemplating on a break-through way of working with flat and 3-dimensional structures, Mia Liu has produced a series of drawings that have superseded 2-dimension, and she calls them "installation drawings". The artist lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan. Major exhibitions include CODA Paper Art, CODA Museum, Holland (2013); A Contemporary Art Exhibition Across the Strait, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts / National Art Museum of China, Taichung / Beijing (2013); Taiwan Calling: Phantom of Liberty / No Man's Land, MűcsarnokK / Ludwig Museum, Budapest, Hungary (2010).
