A court in Belarus has handed a 10-year jail term to Nobel laureate Ales bialiatski, founder of the country’s most prominent human rights group. The sentencing has drawn immediate condemnation internationally with human rights activists calling the trial a punishment for his activism. Julide Ager reports.
