This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. With over 30 years of experience in the film industry, NYU Professor Karl Bardosh discusses the power of film and how we, on an individual and every day basis, can transform the face of the world through cinematography using the cameras around us, whether on our cellphones or with professional studios.
Accumulating over 30 years of professional experience in Europe, Asia, Brazil, Hollywood and New York in all genres of film and television, Prof. Karl Bardosh of New York University has been an award-winning director, producer, writer, editor of features, shorts, television series and documentaries. He had initiated the world's first network television educational series on the Aesthetics of Film pioneered a new genre, Poetry Music Videos with Allen Ginsberg. In his book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Digital Video published by Penguin-Alpha Books, Prof. Bardosh has introduced the concept of filmmaking with an unbroken chain of digital software starting with Digital Screenwriting. A pioneer in Mobile Filmmaking, he has also introduced Cell Phone Cinema in India and in Australia. Prof. Karl Bardosh has been teaching 28 different courses in writing and production during his 21 years tenure at New York University - including new courses of his own design- "Cell Phone Cinema" since the Fall, 2009 semester in Open Arts and in the Cinema Studies Department, as well as "No Excuses Cinema: Microbudget Features" at the Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television.
