About Shahar
Shahar is a certified yoga teacher for all levels and a certified Laban movement analyst. She is also a psychotherapist and holds a Masters in Clinical Social Work from New York University. Shahar is the founder and director of The Wellness Yoga Project, which she developed after studying psychology, anatomy as it relates to movement, and mindfulness meditation practices for over a decade. Some of her recent workshops include "Yoga for the Anxious Mind" and "An Unexpected Inner Compass". Shahar teaches private and group sessions in New York City and at Pratt Institute, where she was recently honored with the Faculty Development Award.

Since starting two years ago, TEDxNYU has grown from a small team of 7 dedicated mavericks to over 30 amazing graduate and undergraduate students across 8 teams who work to bring together the University community through 100% student organized TEDx events. Our mission is to: Unite NYU's global community in discussion around unique ideas; Inspire NYU students, faculty, and alumni to take action and make their big ideas into reality; and Share the amazing stories happening in every corner of the University.

About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
