For over three decades, Ms. Werner has worked in museum settings. Nearly half of that time has been spent as the Executive Director of the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, a nationally-recognized children's museum that has received numerous design awards, the National Medal from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and named to Parents Magazine's "Top Ten Children's Museum" list. Under Jane's leadership, the museum has expanded significantly and now enjoys 267,000 patrons annually. Highlighted achievements during her tenure also include the revitalization and reopening of the New Hazlett Theater and Buhl Community Park on the Northside.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
