Dr. Aelaf Worku is a Hospitalist and a Hospitalist Scholar at the University of Chicago Hospital while also pursing his Masters in Health Studies. Previously, through the President's Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEFAR), he served as both a quality improvement advisor at Debre Berhan Referral Hospital in Ethiopia and a medical education advisor to the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health, helping to launch thirteen medical schools. Aelaf received his medical degree and Internal Medicine residency training at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He graduated from Harvard College in economics.
