The world’s preeminent field biologist and master biographer of our planet’s most charismatic species, WCS's George Schaller is a founding father of wildlife conservation. Schaller has roamed the globe since the 1950s, conducting landmark long-term studies that have deepened humanity’s understanding of a multitude of species including lion, snow leopard, tiger, and jaguar. His popular books on those adventurous studies brought him a National Book Award and international acclaim. His work continues to shape wildlife protection efforts around the world and inspire generations of conservationists to follow in his footsteps.
