Wendy Bonython is a legal academic who researches at the intersection of law, biotechnology, medicine, and human rights. She has a PhD in molecular medicine and post graduate qualifications in law. She teaches torts and mental health law, and has published on topics including genetic privacy, liability of people with mental illness, and autonomy and dignity in healthcare.Wendy is currently co-authoring a book on mental health and the law in Australia. She has also spent a lot of time at the fun end of a microscope, and knows far more about the biology of chicken tibial growth plates than makes for good conversation.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
