Gulwali Passarlay, an Afghan political refugee, who left Afghanistan in 2006 due to the conflict and war, but more so because of lack of education, security and peace. At the moment he is studying for his BA politics and philosophy at the University of Manchester. After completing his studies, Gulwali hopes to return to his homeland and run for the presidency.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
