How Social Consumerism Can Change the World | Andre Angel | TEDxPlano

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The TEDxPlano 2014 theme was "On The Verge" and Andre Angel is On The Verge of creating a self-sustaining solution for hunger.

His last name is "Angel," but Andre Angel says he's actually in the business of empowering angels -- namely, the thousands of individuals who opt to give money, donate goods or services, and contribute to a sustainable future simply by clicking a button on their phones. Andre, a multi-time entrepreneur with numerous successful exits, has used his software skills to empower people who can make change. When you allow people to help, give them a way to be charitable and make a difference, he says, people will do it.

Angel is a classically trained concert pianist who fluently speaks eight languages. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and a father of three teens, residing in Plano, Texas.
