20 small farm families from Treinta y Tres (Treinta y Tres department), linked to the Food Sovereignty Plan of the local government have prepared improvement plans in the farm areas. For example, they have introduced productive native species, rotation of cultivations, the preparation of compost and ecologic purification of sewage waters.
They have prepared sustainability indicators, and implemented biodiversity refuges in five farm areas.
The monitoring and evaluation of the indicators in the farm areas has been done by the technicians of the NGO CEUTA along with the farmers.
