A new investigation by the BBC has reveled that TikTok is profiting from livestreams in which Syrians in refugee camps ask for donations, and that these families in displacement camps end up only receiving a small percentage of the donated amount. TikTok has said that it’s “deeply concerned” by the allegations and will “take prompt action”.
