Joel Hodroff - Drowning in Wealth; Searching for Money at TEDxMahtomedi

Joel Hodroff is a 40+ year social activist, entrepreneur, inventor, and environmentalist. In 1983 he founded Solar Consultants, Inc., growing the company to $1 million in sales. In 1993 he founded Commonweal, Inc., (now DualCurrency Systems, DualCurrency.com) to pilot a new business--community currency. His innovative business model, termed Dual Currency Commerce, integrates insights and tools from barter, loyalty rewards, complementary currencies, and payment systems, leveraging the profit motive to drive rapid, sustainable community economic development. Joel asserts that now is the time to update the 150-year-old design of money — once backed by gold, now backed only by debt. His advice to young entrepreneurs: Have Fun! Make Money! Change the World!
