ABD Büyükelçiliği Kültür Ataşesi Katherine Van de Vate, Türk öğrencileri ABD'de eğitim almaya davet ederek, Uluslararası Eğitim Enstitüsü'nün (Institute of International Education) tarafından yayınlanan 'Open Doors' raporunda, 2012/13 öğretim yılında ABD'de eğitim gören öğrencilerin sayısının yaklaşık 820 bin olduğunu ve bunların arasında yaklaşık 12 bin Türkiye'den gelen öğrencinin bulunduğunu belitti. Türkiye, dünyadan ABD'ye öğrenci gönderen ülkeler arasında 10. sırada yer alırken, Avrupa'dan ABD'ye öğrenci gönderen ülkeler arasında 1. sırada yer aldığını vurgulayan Katherine Van de Vate, bu sayının artmasını arzu ettiklerini söyledi. ABD'de eğitim olanaklarının çeşitliliğine dikkati çeken Kültür Ataşesi Van de Vate "Her öğrenciye ve herkese uygun bir program var" dedi.

U.S. Embassy Cultural Attaché Katherine Van de Vate invites Turkish students in the U.S.
Cultural Attaché Van de Vate invited Turkish students to explore the wealth of educational opportunities in the United States. This year's Open Doors report shows that the total number of international students at colleges and universities in the United States increased to ~ 820.000 during the 2012/2013 academic year. According to the annual Open Doors report published by the Institute of International Education, there were approximately 12.000 Turkish students studying in the U.S. in 2012/2013. With this number, Turkey is number 10 in the world and number 1 in Europe. Drawing attention to variety of educational opportunities in the U.S., Cultural Attaché Van de Vate said "In America, there are more than 4000 colleges and universities offering graduate degree programs, undergraduate degree programs and English Language programs. There is something to suite every student and every person. So, we encourage everyone to contact EducationUSA offices, to contact the Fulbright Commission to find out about the opportunities to study in the U.S. "
