Dr. Adriane Randolph is shaping the future of brain-computer interface, as director of the BrainLab at Kennesaw State University (KSU) and as a faculty member of KSU's Coles College of Business.
For Dr. Randolph, the brain has tantalizing untapped power. Her work envisions humans who are able control their computers by brain waves or other electrophysiological responses, not simply by physical input. She imagines smartphones that are controlled simply by thinking, and people using their brains to turn lights on and off, or control multiple devices simultaneously.
At the KSU BrainLab, she is working to discover impactful solutions for brain-computer interfaces by uncovering the underlying characteristics that affect users' control. Other research interests include human-computer interaction, neuro-information systems, and process improvement.
Her work has revolutionary potential to heal and help humanity. Not surprisingly, Dr. Randolph was recently named a "Google Glass Explorer," invited to develop applications for emerging new technology.
Dr. Randolph was a featured speaker at TEDxPeachtree, and was named by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of "40 Under 40" Young Professionals on the Rise. She is a member of Leadership Georgia and was featured in Entrepreneur Magazine as aperson who is "transforming the world"
Dr. Randolph has always been interested in technology since graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia. In contrast to these right-brained ventures, she enjoys traveling, dancing, creating art, and spending time with her family. She has a loving husband, two young children, and two dogs.
