In 2013, 20 year-old Spaniard Marc Marquez began what would be one of the most remarkable years in MotoGP to date. Moving up into the premiere class of MotoGP, the rookie rider performed strongly in the first race in Qatar, lading on the podium in third place. But it was as the series moved to Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX for the second race, that Marquez would make history. After trailing behind teammate Dani Pedrosa for most of the race, Marquez made his move, taking the lead and never looking back.
