Nothing to Hide, Nothing to Fear: Vikram Kumar at TEDxQueenstown

Vikram thinks of himself as a technologist, a person who looks at technical issues from their interaction with society, economics, and cultural change.

In New Zealand he has worked with private sector businesses (Telecom NZ, Mega), government (State Services Commission), and not-for-profits (Internet NZ). Vikram is currently on a "career hiatus" as Chief Executive of the Internet Party till the 2014 General Elections. The Internet Party has been recently formed to advocate for a Bill of Digital Rights and New Zealand's digital future.

Vikram has often spoken and written publicly in the last few years about the Internet's opportunities and challenges as a technologist.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
