As lives are lost and ruined in Ukraine, neighbouring Poland has responded with empathy and compassion. Everyday Poles have taken refugees into their homes, fed them and clothed them.

The country has also promised to educate Ukrainian children. TRT World's Sarah Morice has been to a Warsaw high school that is trying to offer some of them a sense of belonging.
