Every night at 7pm, Pope Francis calls Fathers Gabriele Romanelli and Yusuf Asad of the Holy Family Parish in Gaza to encourage the community in Gaza seeking refuge in the Parish of his proximity and prayers.

Pope Francis has made nightly calls to the last remaining Catholic Parish in the besieged enclave since October 9, 2023, just two days after the start of Israel’s war on Gaza.

Nearly 600 Palestinians, Christians and Muslims alike, are being sheltered within the church, located in Gaza City.

In addition to sending well wishes, the Pope spoke in Arabic with children who joined the call while walking nearby the two priests on the phone with the Pope.
