This has only been over a year in the making! Rue is a coyote that someone took from the wild as a very young pup. She lived for a few months in their house (with pets and kids), then went to another rehab center where she lived in an indoor cage for almost a month, then she came to NN...where she had to live indoors throughout the entire winter because we were raising money and building her enclosure. She has been outside for over 3 months...but too nervous to venture out of her den and into the full space. The staff at NN have been working with her daily to try and help her through her fears. Well...today was the day! At approximately 4:30pm she was coming out to quickly grab a mouse and run back in as usual...but something scared her and she bolted off to the side. The amazing part is how quickly she calmed down and began to enjoy herself! YAY!!
