Rachel makes dance for the magical context of the theatre, communicating experiences that aren't so easy to express verbally. She believes that anybody can understand the meaning of movement with surprising clarity. Rachel is a London-based contemporary dancer, both making her own work, and collaborating and performing with other artists. She trained at Middlesex University and later the Cunningham School in New York. During that time she performed alongside the Repertory Understudy Group sections of Trackers, Torse, Scramble and Un Jour ou Deux from Robert Swinston, Carol Teitelbaum and Banu Ogan. Rachel's own work, described as 'filmic', is naturally quirky, with costume, lights and props existing as integral, scene-building features, rather than additions. She loves to work closely with music, and precise, mathematical patterns to create scenes that encourage from the audience a sense of story, rather than providing an explicit narrative. Rachel performs, creates, teaches, and is always looking for opportunities to learn more about the wonderful art she has found herself committed to

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
