This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. What does it mean to be a company that has joined the Participation Age? How does this new business perspective affect the bottom line? In this funny and insightful talk, Chuck Blakeman explores the hallmarks of the Participation Age, and their attraction to the next generations of stakeholders and leaders.
Chuck started and built eight businesses in 25 years in the U.S. and internationally, and now uses his leadership experience to advise others. His company, Crankset Group, provides outcome-based mentoring and peer advisory for business leaders worldwide in the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Asia. His 2010 book, "Making Money is Killing Your Business," was named No. 1 Business Book of the Year by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the largest business owner association in America. His new book released in Nov. 2013 is "Why Employees are ALWAYS a Bad Idea."
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
