The Secret Kitchen | Marsha Smith | TEDxUoN

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. A passionate foodie determined to bring families together through food, Marsha Smith founded “The Secret Kitchen” in 2011 in Sneinton, Nottingham. With no set menu, Marsha created a space for families and strangers to sit down together and share locally sourced delicious food.

With low income families often lacking the resources or time to create nutritious and healthy food, Marsha’s social cooking has educated people about the importance of eating healthily and with others.

Marsha is on a journey to rediscover the sense of community and enjoyment around meals which is often lost in our fast-food and fast-paced lifestyle.
