Growing energy collaboration between Ankara and Moscow has been helping Türkiye reach its goal of energy independence and becoming an energy hub.

The two countries agreed last year to create a natural gas centre in western Türkiye to transport Russian gas into Europe using international pipelines. It comes after Russia suspended gas supplies to Europe after Western sanctions were imposed in response to the war in Ukraine.
