White House: Türkiye has right to defend itself

This week, at least five people have been killed and several injured in the opposition-held city of Azaz in Syria. A rocket launched by PKK/ YPG terrorists fell in a residential area near the border with Türkiye, damaging homes. In Washington, the White House said Türkiye faces a legitimate terrorist threat and has the right to defend itself.

Hundreds have been killed after an earthquake struck the West Java province in Indonesia. Many roads into the epicenter of Cianjur have been cut off and parts of the region are without power. The magnitude 5.6 quake struck on Monday in a densely populated area that's prone to landslides.

And the Ukrainian government says it has reconnected three nuclear power plants to the national grid after a heavy barrage of Russian missile attacks, although much of the country remains without power. The Kremlin insists it's only targeting military sites, but doctors in Kiev are being forced to operate by torchlight.
