Beirut, Lebanon -- World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said Lebanon needs global support to cope with the influx of an estimated 1 million refugees from the Syrian civil conflict. Kim visited a public school in the Burj Hammoud area of east Beirut to meet with Syrian refugee children and later met with Lebanese Prime Minister Tammam Salam to attend a donor meeting. In a key address, Kim told young university students that the world must prepare now to help rebuild Syria and provide aide to the region as it struggles toward an end to the conflict.
