Bridging the Familiarity Gap: How to Tackle Homophobia: Catherine Purkiss at TEDxUCLWomen

Homophobia remains a pervasive issue in the UK: so how can we tackle it? Catherine Purkiss draws on both recent research and her personal experience to argue that television and the media have the power to transform conceptions of homosexuality by ‘bridging the familiarity gap’.
