Marta is the executive director and curator of Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House in Springfield. She grew up in Krakow, the creative capital of Poland. In 2002, she decided to visit the United States. What was supposed to be a two-year stay turned out to be a permanent affair. Marta will explore how we can contribute to creative placemaking in our communities to save them and ourselves from mediocrity.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
